- Ted represents a "Human" due to the normality of his life. This is very Hyperreal.
- It's a bricolage as Teddy Bears are associated with children.
- Ted references 'Teddy Ruxpin' as Ted talks, he says things such as "I LOVE YOU!" and in doing this it mocks the idea of a talking Teddy Bear.
- Flash Gorden is referenced within the film Ted. It is a terrible film, but when referenced in Ted it becomes something good.
- Ted includes cuts in the same way that Family Guy does, irrelevant and pointless at times.
- The voices of the characters in Family Guy are also used wihtin Ted (Mila Kunas etc).
- Ted mixes real footage along with CGI (Cartoon) footage.
- In one of the introducing scenes there is a Poster of the film 'Jurassic Park' on the wall, this is a strong intertexual reference.
- The film starts of in a similar way to a story, these are associated with childrens books, but the film is infact the complete opposite and is definitely not suited for children.
